Limburg app creates loyal customers in England

The marketing company Coupontools, based in Dilsen-Stokkem, Belgium, has scored a massive hit with the launch of the Poundland Perks app, a tool used by a British retail chain with 800 stores to boost customer loyalty.

Poundland is a chain known for offering all items at the price of 1 pound. Currently, there are about 800 stores across the UK. To incentivize customers to return and shop at Poundland, a new app was commissioned from Coupontools in Dilsen-Stokkem.

"With our app, British customers get the chance to win prizes and loyalty points every week through the exciting Spin to Win campaign," says Bert Croimans of Coupontools. "Especially on Wednesdays—or 'WINsday,' as the app calls it—users flock to try their luck."

For Coupontools, based in Dilsen, this success is a true milestone. The first nationwide Spin to Win session attracted no fewer than 31,266 users—an increase of 158% compared to the test phase. By October 30, the counter had risen to 42,671 users.

"Our mission was to create a loyalty program that customers would enjoy returning to every week," says Bert Croimans. "Thanks to our technology, British customers can redeem their won vouchers directly in-store—simple, fast, and incredibly appealing!"

The British launch marks an important step into the international market for Coupontools. "Our technology not only helps build customer loyalty but also makes shopping genuinely fun," says Croimans proudly. This Belgian success story demonstrates the powerful potential of gamification to connect brands with customers worldwide.
